From Business Idea to Running Business in Three Months
Our signature programme takes a founder from a business idea to a business that runs in three months: one to build, one to launch and one to refine it around real clients.
Every business starts as an idea. The hard part is everything between the idea and a business that runs: a name, a brand, a set of services, prices, the systems behind them and a way to tell people it exists. Our signature business development service is a three-month retainer programme that takes a founder through all of it. The first month is spent building. The second is launch. The third is running the business together, ironing out the kinks and shaping the systems around real life.
Five founders came to us with a business idea, the desire to be an entrepreneur and no clear sense of where to start. Most received their first enquiries within a week of launching, and every one of them secured a client within 21 days of launch.
Where This Service Began
REAU Studio started in fashion and wellness. For a long time, building and scaling styling businesses was our bread and butter. Our client work has since broadened, but this is where the signature service was shaped: one founder at a time, with an idea and a great deal riding on it.
Five Founders, One Starting Point
Each of these founders arrived with an idea and very little else in place.
- Best Self Sara. A wellness coach.
- Taylar Coyer. A personal trainer.
- Styled by Des. A personal stylist.
- Vanessa Fabila. A personal stylist.
- Wardrobe Department. A personal styling agency.
None of them needed persuading that they could run a business. What they needed was someone who had built one before to set it up properly, so they could spend their time on clients rather than on working out where to begin.
How the Three Months Work
Month one: build. We create the business from the ground up. The exact mix differs from one founder to the next, but the scope covers:
- Identity. The name, the brand, the logo and the brand voice.
- The offer. A suite of services and the pricing behind it.
- Operations. Invoicing, a client CRM and the software each business needs, from HoneyBook, QuickBooks, Notion and monday.com to GoodPix, Shopify, an Amazon Storefront and LTK.
- The website. Designed and built in full, ready to take enquiries.
- The audience. Email list curation, email campaigns and social media management.
- The content. Creative direction, branding shoots, content shoots and merchandise.
Month two: launch. The business opens its doors. The announcement goes out to the founder's network and on social media, the email list is put to work and the first enquiries are handled through the systems built in month one.
Month three: run. The founder runs the business with us alongside. Real clients reveal what a plan cannot, so this is where the kinks are ironed out, operations are refined and the systems are reshaped around how the business actually works day to day.
A business is built in the first month. It is proven in the third.
Launch, and the First 21 Days
Most of the five received their first enquiries within a week of launching, largely through word of mouth and announcements on social media. Every one of them secured at least one client within 21 days of launch.
That speed came from the month of preparation before it. By launch day, a prospective client could find the business, understand what it offered, see what it cost, enquire, book and pay, and the founder had the systems in place to look after them properly.
We Build the Business. The Founder Runs It.
We are candid about this. The programme takes a business from idea to a working, running business. After that, the business belongs to the founder. Entrepreneurship, and the success that follows from it, rests with the founder and their team.
Some of the businesses we have launched have grown well beyond their first clients. Others have since wound down. That is the nature of starting something. What we can promise is a business set up properly, tested with real clients and given the best possible chance of lasting.
After the Programme
We remain close at hand. Some founders invest in an ongoing retainer with us, while others book advice as they need it:
- Operations and scaling. Systems and processes that grow with the business.
- Brand and rebranding. For businesses that have outgrown where they began.
- Creative and content direction. Keeping what the business publishes consistent and effective.
- Advisory calls. One-off check-ins on sales, offerings and pricing.
If You Have an Idea and Do Not Know Where to Start
- Decide who it is for. A business built for everyone is chosen by no one.
- Name it and give it a voice. The name, brand and voice set the tone for everything that follows.
- Shape the offer and price it. Clear services at clear prices are easier to buy.
- Set up the systems before you launch. Invoicing, a CRM and booking should be ready before the first enquiry arrives.
- Build the website and the email list. A place to send people, and a way to stay in touch with them.
- Tell your network. For most new service businesses, the first clients come through people who already know the founder.
- Expect to refine. The first months of trading will show you what to change. Plan for it.
Two pieces sit well alongside this one: personal brand vs company brand, on how founders and their businesses share the spotlight, and how to get clients from Instagram, on turning an audience into bookings.
